Being a private teacher I want to form in my scholars a thorough recognition along with self-confidence when answering test questions and being able to deal with unknown cases. The base of my philosophy is the opinion that learning occurs in an atmosphere of mutual trust where the student is stimulated to think and find new links for themselves. My sensation has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique sense to students due to the ability to resolve the students' own obstacles to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a thorough and long-term understanding of the subject matter.
Analytic thinking
My approach varies depending on the student's needs and learning style. However, my teaching approach is built upon motivating students to think on their own, operating real-world examples whenever it can be. |I think that it is vital to supply students with a working knowledge and to form problem-solving skill sets for development upon this knowledge. Teaching anyone to think critically is at the fundamental of the things a person should withdraw from any subject training.
We learn through examples
Coaching students is among the most lasting contributions a tutor are able to do, and it is a procedure, that I consider to be fun and beneficial. From my experience, I found out the importance of engaging learners with the help of examples and of delivering content at a level that implies intellect though not necessarily knowledge, blending the known with the unknown within a combination that gives the student the feeling of likelihood rather than that of impossibility that impressive and authoritative methods can impose.
How I teach
I start from themes the children are familiar with and step gradually towards more challenging fields while their confidence is being built. I employ questions and examples to verify realising permanently. I don't ever lecture to children or ask them to memorise things. Neither do I carry out the scholars' investigation for them!
I mainly involve test-style as well as prior paper questions in order to inspect, work at and perfect the student's realising and practice. I even give a lot of attention to many of the not so much vital but obvious skill sets for example, logical thought, essay technique and structure, and the efficient use of graphs and numbers.
